Plant Raisers primary means of pest control is by regular and targeted introductions of natural enemies - biological pest control. Trained staff monitor sticky traps each week, together with regular crop inspections to check for the presence of any pests. These inspections are further supplemented by regular inspections by a representative from Koppert, our supplier of biological control organisms.

The use of insecticides is minimised under our Bio-propagation programme and where they are used care is taken to choose materials which have the least effect on the bio-control organisms.

The aim of our programme is to reduce the use of pesticides to a minimum and give you an early introduction of natural enemies ready for action when the plants are delivered to your nursery, in readiness for matching with your own Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programme.
